Maximize Efficiency, Minimize Costs with LCL Shipping

Opt for unmatched flexibility with UUCargo’s LCL shipping. Ideal for frequent, smaller shipments, this service allows you to ship goods exactly when needed, without waiting to fill an entire container.

What is LCL Shipping?

LCL Shipping service allows you to transport smaller shipments by sharing container space with others. LCL is an excellent choice for ensuring your smaller shipments are dispatched promptly and arrive on time. Utilize our LCL service for both palletized and boxed cargo, providing a flexible solution to meet the ebbs and flows of your shipping demands, especially during peak seasons.

Why Choose LCL Shipping?

LCL Shipping service is particularly beneficial for smaller, more frequent shipments, allowing you to dispatch goods as per your schedule without the wait to fill up an entire container. LCL is not just about space efficiency; it’s also about cost efficiency. Pay only for the space you use, sharing both the container and the costs with others. This makes LCL a cost-effective alternative to air freight, helping you manage your budget more effectively by reducing expenses on storage and inventory management. Embrace the flexibility and savings that come with LCL shipping.

Difference Between LCL and FCL

When it comes to ocean freight, there are primarily two options for transporting your cargo: Less-than-Container Load (LCL) and Full Container Load (FCL). Understanding the difference between these two can help you make an informed decision for your shipping needs.

FCL shipping involves renting an entire container. This option is ideal if you have enough cargo to fill a container as it is dedicated solely to your shipment. The advantage of FCL is streamlined handling; your goods remain in a sealed container throughout the journey, reducing the need for unloading and reloading.

LCL shipping is a more flexible and economical choice if you don't have enough cargo to fill an entire container. This method allows you to share container space with other shippers. It's a cost-effective solution for smaller shipments, enabling you to ship goods in smaller quantities and more frequently.

When to Use LCL

LCL is the go-to option for businesses shipping smaller quantities fitting into 20 or 40-foot containers. Ideal for both stackable and non-stackable cargo, it’s a versatile solution for SMEs and LMEs alike. Whether you’re adjusting to market demands, exploring new markets, or operating in industries like fashion, technology, or automotive, LCL shipping is tailored for your needs.

How long does LCL shipping take?
Sea shipping generally takes approximately 6-10 weeks, depending on your origin and destination. LCL tends to take slightly longer than FCL due to consolidation and deconsolidation.
The maximum for a single package is 3000 kg and 29 CBM and the maximum limit per booking is 20,000 kg and 60 CBM.
This is a complex issue to evaluate. If you’ve got the right skills, moderate import/export flows and simple products (from a customs perspective), it might be more appropriate for you to undertake the customs clearance process yourself.

However, if your company is shipping in bulk across multiple geographies, you’re strongly advised to seek the support of a customs broker. A customs broker can help you avoid errors and navigate trade complexities.
